Wall Colors that WOW Buyers
We have all been there. Standing in front of the wall of paint color options at Lowe's or Sherwin Williams and thinking "what in the world am I going paint that room." The choice is not easy, so it seems. Some of us find ourselves choosing between 5 shades of white, while most cannot even decide which color scheme to go with.
If you find yourself in either position, we are here to help! And, if the next colors you choose will be the colors that sell your home, we have advice that will help you sell for top dollar!
To attract a buyer, your house should feel like home to anyone who walks in for a showing. And what is one of the best ways to do that? Neutral wall colors. Neutral doesn't have to mean boring, though. Neutral colors will allow the features that really sell your home shine through.
This article is not a mandate to repaint a house, yet if it is time to paint, these colors will put on your way to get the most out of your home!
Gray is my go-to wall color for staging homes. It is light enough to make every room look big, and it does not feel cold or sterile. Use gray walls to show off those white cabinets and any color countertop. I love gray walls because they fit in with almost any style of decor and make the features that will sell your home POP. (I have gray in my home and love it!)
If you go for the gray, my favorite shades are Agreeable Gray from Sherwin Williams along with Sleigh Bells & Revere Pewter from Benjamin Moore.
White walls give your home a really clean and modern feel. I love white walls in homes with a lot of windows because they easily reflect light. Bright homes are welcoming to buyers! If you have colorful furniture and wall accents, white walls balance out the pops of color.
My favorite white color is Sherwin Williams Antique White. It pulls some of the gray tones that I like while still being a brighter white.
Beige is a great wall color for more traditional-styled homes. If your home is full of rusty reds, olive greens, golds, navy blues and browns, go for a tan or beige backdrop. Not every home is designed to look like an art gallery and that is perfectly fine! The warmth of beige walls will make a buyer feel right at home.
My current go-to beige colors are Toasted Pine Nut and Natural Choice from Sherwin Williams.
The combination of gray & beige is a hot color these days. "Greige," as it is coined, takes the best features of gray & beige tones and puts it together to create a color that blends well with flooring & decor. This color is subtle enough to pull the browns out of furniture and still match with some of your cool tone items. It is also a great idea if you cannot decide between gray or beige. This picture above shows how well it creates a great canvas to showcase a room! I'd definitely love to entertain here!
I recommend Prefect Greige from Sherwin Williams.
